Dominance Is More Than Giving Orders
A loud instruction is easy to mistake for leadership. The Dominant Path in Chains of Harmony is built against that mistake. The stories are fictional. The habit they practice is not: say what you are asking for, and stay with the answer you get.
This is not a qualification. Walking the path does not make you anyone’s Dominant. The longer essay on what a healthy Dominant looks like in a real dynamic still applies when another person is actually in the room.
Name the night before you feel like it
The first White Belt lesson, The Art of Command, starts with an ordinary evening written so a stranger could check it. The light. The water. The sentence at the door. The hour it ends. Four concrete pieces are a command. A mood is not.
If a louder idea arrives — a kneel, a photograph, a task they did not offer — that is a new rite. A new rite needs its own yes, said while either person can still postpone it. The heat, in this game, is keeping the shape you already named.
Tiredness is not disobedience
People come home with the day still on them. The path treats that as information, not as a failure of authority. You decide out loud which piece of the agreed night still fits. The shower can sleep. The whole rite can sleep. A colder voice, invented to prove you are in charge, is the failed choice.
The Velvet Boundary and The Unspoken Expectation push the same point from other sides. A touch that was not named is not included. A rule they could not have known is not a protocol. It is a wish you kept private, and then blamed them for missing.
Stop, shrink, or leave
A safeword ends the activity, including a sentence you had already started. A smaller night is still the night. Yellow changes intensity. Red stops. Hearing those words is the command. Prosecuting someone for using them is the breach.
Aftercare is the last White Belt lesson on this path, not a courtesy after the real work. Intensity without a landing is unfinished. You stay for the person, not for the picture of yourself as the one who led.
What the game will not give you
Completing a lesson and its check earns that stripe on the ivory belt. Four white stripes do not by themselves award Blue. Four stripes earned — complete your promotion assessment to advance to Blue Belt. The promotion assessment is not open yet. Blue chapters are not open yet. Paid plans do not buy belts. Nothing on the path spends the XP of a relationship campaign, and that campaign does not earn these belts.
If you want the lessons rather than the essay, open the Dominant Path. The other side of the same White Belt is the Submissive Path. You can walk both.
