D/s Rewards, XP, and Points — How I Earn, Receive, and Ask

I like being rewarded. I like it in my body, and I like it in the app where I can see it later when my brain tries to tell me I imagined the good day.

I am a submissive woman in a negotiated dynamic. I do not have a Give Reward button. He does. That is not a bug. That is the shape of our power exchange.

This is how D/s rewards, XP, and points actually work from my side of Harmony Control — earning, receiving, the few ways I can give something back without stealing the lead, and how I ask without topping from the bottom.

If you want the day that produces the points, read a day in the life. If you want how I like to be treated while all of this happens, start here.

What I am not doing with points

I am not grinding a video game so he has to love me.

XP and levels are a record of follow-through, affection logged, tasks approved, rewards given. They are useful the way a calendar is useful. They are dangerous the way a scale is dangerous if I make them the whole story.

I look at them with him, usually on Overview, next to the health graph. I do not open the app at lunch to see if I “leveled” and then spiral. That is me using the tool to hurt myself. We agreed I would not.

How I earn — I complete the work; he confirms it

The loop is simple, and I like simple.

  1. He puts structure on the Day Board — often from Yes Day / Week / Month or a care pack. See Yes Week and Yes Month and the Day Board guide.
  2. I do the task.
  3. I mark it complete or submit it for approval if that is how our plan is set.
  4. He reviews. Approved work is where XP for the task actually lands.

Tasks show an XP amount on the card — a badge, not a mystery. I do not award it to myself. I earn the chance at it by doing the thing. He still has to receive the work.

That matters emotionally. I used to complete things and then narrate them until he praised me. Now the board holds the proof. He can approve without a speech. The speech, when it comes, is extra. Extra is a gift. Extra is not rent I am owed.

Completed tasks also feed relationship health. Misses pull the other way. I care about the trend, not about winning a single afternoon. The health chart is for repair, not for shame.

How a reward lands — he gives, I receive

On Rewards, the Give Reward form is his. Types I have actually seen in our history:

  • XP points — a number that hits my XP
  • Token — a labeled token, sometimes redeemed later
  • Privilege — something we named (a night, a ritual, a yes he was holding)
  • Physical — the in-person thing, logged so the graph knows it happened
  • Other — when the category is less important than the sentence in the reason field

He writes a description and usually a reason. I did not type those. I read them afterward in Reward History, which I can see. The first time I watched a line appear — date, type, his words, an amount — I cried in a boring way. Not scene tears. Relief. He had noticed on purpose.

Quick awards exist for him too: affection shown, me allowing, me embracing, a tease, an aftercare / safeguard check. Those update points and XP. I do not press them. I live the moment. He logs it, or he does not. If he forgets often, that is a conversation, not a button I steal.

Tokens on the Training side are the same story: only he can Give Token. I can see Token History. If a token is outstanding, it can be redeemed so the points apply. I treat redeeming as completing the loop he started — not as me granting myself loot.

When a reward lands, health typically moves the way the help text says rewards do: they pull the picture up. Mistakes pull down. I like that honesty. A week of only corrections and no stars is data. It usually means we are under-praising or over-stacking. It does not mean I am worthless. I have to remember that sentence on purpose.

The ways I “give” without becoming the Dom

People asked me — including my own Dom, teasing — how a sub “gives rewards.” Here is the accurate version for this app.

I do not give Rewards. That screen is his.

What I can do:

Complete the Day Board. That is the main gift. Consistency is the thing he can actually feel. XP follows approved work. I am not being cute. Showing up is the reward I give him, even when the points land on my level.

Notes of appreciation. Notes & Requests lets me send a Note — not a demand. “I liked how you handled this morning. I felt safe and claimed.” That is me giving. He can acknowledge or resolve. I do not get XP for flattering him, and I should not. The point is that he hears it.

Harmony Hub’s Quick Interaction Logger. This one surprised me. Either of us can log Acknowledge, Validate, Accept, a creativity bonus, or token-only, pointed at sub, Dom, or both. I use it to mark that I noticed him — target Dom — with a short note. I do not use it to sprinkle points on myself. That would be me playing banker. If I am unsure, I ask him which interactions he wants me to log. We agreed: I may Acknowledge him; I do not award myself.

Requirements Arena. There is a daily affection / play pair. His card is Show Affection. Mine is Allow & Embrace. When I allow and embrace, points go with that requirement. That is me receiving the shape of the day, not granting a bounty. If I initiate the Dom-side affection because we are together and it is time, I am completing a requirement we already wrote — still inside the agreement.

Ask, then wait. A Request is how I put a want in his hands: a privilege I hope for, a physical reward we already listed as on the menu, a quieter weekend. He decides. If I ask and then campaign, I have taken it back.

That is the whole map. No secret sub Give Reward. No inventing a button. If someone tells you otherwise, they are describing a different app or a wish.

How I ask without topping from the bottom

Topping from the bottom, for me, is not “having a preference.” It is trying to run the outcome while kneeling.

Rules I use:

  • Wants go in the Hub when they are standing wants. “I like praise after service” belongs there so he can lead with it.
  • A specific hope for this week goes in a Request, normal priority, one paragraph.
  • I do not attach the request to a missed task as bargaining. “I failed, so I need a reward to feel okay” is not how we play. Repair first. Reward when he says so.
  • I do not quote my XP like a receipt. “I am due” is not language I get to use. “I would like, if you want to give it” is.

Asking is allowed. Submissive needs are allowed. The difference is whether I leave him room to be the one who gives.

If he says no, I do not punish him with distance. I feel the no. I take aftercare if the no landed hard. I go back to the board.

When the reward is not points

The best rewards in our house are often not the number.

A privilege he wrote down. A physical he logged so the graph would not lie. Aftercare he did not skip — there is a safeguard check he can mark, and I notice when he does. A token with a label that is ours, not generic.

Points are how the app remembers. The relationship is how I remember. I use both. I refuse to pretend the badge replaced his voice.

Discipline sits next to reward on purpose

I wanted this said plainly. Rewards without correction turned me bratty in a way I did not consent to become. Correction without rewards turned me brittle.

He logs mistakes. He runs discipline we already named. I do the repair work. Then — not as a bribe, as a rhythm — he rewards the return. Health moves both directions. Overview shows the stars and the dips. We talk about the picture, not about my moral worth.

A healthy Dominant celebrates effort, not only perfection. I need that in writing because I will forget it when I am ashamed.

Practical rhythm I actually keep

Morning: Day Board, earn the chance at XP by doing the cards.

During the day: one Note if I am genuinely grateful, not a drip of seeking.

Evening: if a reward landed, I read the reason out loud if we are together. It lands better in the air than in my head. If I want something, I write one Request and I close the app.

Weekly: glance at levels and the graph together. Adjust the plan if we are starving the week of stars or stuffing it with tasks nobody can finish.

The features list is longer than this. I do not live in every screen. I live in Hub, Day Board, Notes, Rewards history, Overview. That is enough submissive training to keep me honest.

If you want a private board rather than a public habit-tracker personality, this comparison is the one I send people. Privacy notes are on Updates.

What I want you to take

Earn by doing the board. Receive what he gives. Appreciate him in Notes and, if you both agree, in Hub interactions aimed at him. Ask in a Request. Do not press buttons that are not yours.

I like D/s rewards because they make care visible. I like XP because my effort does not vanish into “she should just know she’s good.” I like asking because I am a partner, not a prop.

I do not like topping from panic, and I do not like pretending I can pay myself.

He gives. I receive. I show up. That is the economy I consented to — adult, specific, and kind enough to last.
